Canelo Álvarez vs. Jermell Charlo Results & Highlights: Álvarez Outworks Charlo
On Sep. 30, Undisputed Middleweight Champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez defended his titles against Jermell Charlo at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both fighters felt confident throughout the week that they would win the fight decisively.
Álvarez was looking to prove that he is still among the best boxers in the world by recording a statement win over Charlo. From the start, Álvarez dominated the fight by pressuring his opponent against the ropes. In the seventh round, the champion dropped Charlo, but “Ironman” got back to his feet in time. The fight went the distance as “Canelo” maintained control to the final bell.
The co-main event had Jesús Ramos Jr. take on Erickson Lubin in a WBC super welterweight title eliminator. In the fight, Lubin was able to do just enough to get a controversial decision win over his opponent.
