Conor McGregor Shows Respect After Statement Win From Max Holloway At UFC Singapore

The UFC’s return to Singapore saw Max Holloway earn a massive win over the Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung. It was only a matter of time before Conor McGregor had something to say about the win.

Holloway came into his main event against TKZ, looking to win two in a row since his third defeat to champion, Alexander Volkanovski. He would face off against Jung, who was contemplating retirement after coming off of his own loss to Volkanovski, 15 months prior.

Conor McGregor Pays Respect To Holloway and TKZ

In the end, Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung would go to war in their UFC Singapore main event. Both men would land good shots in their stand up battle, but it was the former champ would get his hand raised after scoring multiple knockdowns, en route to a one-punch knockout in the third round.

Following the fight, former opponent and long-time friendly rival of Holloway, Conor McGregor took to Twitter to give his reaction to the main event. Rather than the snarky response that some may have expected from the former champ-champ, he actually showed respect, praising the Hawaiian, as well as the Korean Zombie, for their exciting performances.

“What a shot, what a performance! Classic Zombie, classic Holloway. Tremendous stuff! @ufc, as advertised,” wrote McGregor, adding, “Well done Korean Zombie 🇰🇷 What a goer! Man!!! Max fuckin’ Holloway! 🌺”

While Conor McGregor has been respectful to Max Holloway in the past, it was nice to see him show respect to the Korean Zombie, who never fought the Irishman but retired in the Octagon after this defeat. This was certainly an exciting fight from both men, and one worthy of the praise it has received.
