The second part of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s bombshell interview with Piers Morgan went live on Thursday evening.
It really was an enthralling hour of television in which the Manchester United superstar even took time to praise his eternal rival, Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo labelled the Argentine as one of the two best players he’s ever seen, excluding himself, the other being his former manager at Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane.

But while the Portugal international was complimentary about Messi, Zidane and even Premier League rivals Arsenal, others were not so lucky.
Ronaldo didn’t exactly speak too kindy about current United boss Erik ten Hag, while Wayne Rooney appeared to be branded a “rat” by his former colleague.
Near the start of the interview’s second act, Morgan asked Ronaldo: “Do you have more pounds in the bank or more Instagram followers?”
Ronaldo, who currently has 497 million followers on the social media platform, cheekily replied: “Probably similar, I don’t know!”

Morgan then brought Rooney into the equation
After sharing a laugh with Ronaldo, Morgan decided to mention Rooney.
“I’m just trying to work out how Wayne Rooney could hate you even more, probably that’s the answer,” the high-profile journalist said.
Ronaldo replied: “Well, not only him, imagine the rest of the ‘rats’ that are going to criticise me too!”
Yeah, we reckon Ronaldo and Rooney’s relationship is now firmly in the ‘irreparable’ bracket…

Ronaldo certainly isn’t a fan of Rooney these days, to say the least.
During the 90 minute interview with Morgan, the Real Madrid icon called out the Englishman for what he views as jealousy towards him.
Ronaldo said: “I don’t know why he [Rooney] criticises me so badly. Probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at high level. I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true…”

Rooney’s classy words about Ronaldo after criticism
Despite the fact he’s been slammed by Ronaldo, Rooney would still love to see his former colleague win the 2022 World Cup.
Speaking to the Times of India, the DC United manager said: “I would love to see either [Lionel] Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo win the World Cup, it would be a fitting end to their incredible careers.”
Fair play to you, Wazza.
