Curtis Blaydes vs. Jailton Almeida Official For November 4 In São Paulo
An expected UFC heavyweight showdown between Curtis Blaydes and Jailton Almeida has been made official for November 4.
News of the targeted booking was first reported by MMA Junkie earlier this summer and recently confirmed by the promotion.

Blaydes vs. Almeida will headline the UFC’s long-awaited return to São Paulo, Brazil, after four years. Jan Błachowicz vs. Jacaré Souza headlined the UFC’s last event in the city back in November 2018.
Blaydes will return in pursuit of bouncing back from his loss to Sergei Pavlovich earlier this past April. Before the loss to Pavlovich, he had won three straight fights, including victories over Chris Daukaus and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Blaydes will face a tough test in the form of Almeida, who has won 14 fights overall and is unbeaten in his UFC tenure.
The Brazilian secured a shot in the UFC by earning a win on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021. Since then, he’s passed all five of his UFC tests, most recently defeating Rozenstruik by first-round submission at UFC Charlotte in May. He also finished Anton Turkalj and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
The Blaydes vs. Almeida winner will no doubt immerse themselves into the UFC heavyweight title picture a week before reigning champion Jon Jones returns to put the gold on the line against Stipe Miocic.
