Prospects at the start of this week have been boosted by China’s reopening and hopes that the US economy can avoid a hard landing.
The FTSE 100 index finished at just below 7700 on Friday after figures from the US jobs market showed slowing wage growth, boosting hopes that inflation is under control. CMC Markets expects the top flight to open 25 points higher at 7724 this morning.
