Gary Lineker reveals sabotage as BBC’s Wolves vs Liverpool coverage interrupted by bizarre sexual noises
T
he BBC were left red-faced after an act of sabotage plagued their pre-match coverage of Liverpool’s FA Cup replay at Wolves on Tuesday night.
As host Gary Lineker and pundits Paul Ince, Danny Murphy and Alan Shearer tried to discuss the third-round replay ahead of kick-off at Molineux, loud noises that sounded like a woman moaning in a sexual fashion could be constantly heard throughout the broadcast.
It was initially unclear where the noises came from, with Lineker and his fellow pundits trying their best to persevere despite the constant awkward interruption playing on loop.
After the game kicked off, Lineker tweeted a picture of a taped phone on the set and the message: “Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing.”
