Henry Cejudo Withdraws From UFC 292 After Suffering Shoulder Injury
Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo won’t face Marlon Vera at UFC 292 after suffering a shoulder injury in camp.
Cejudo announced the news of his injury in a recent video post.
Some important news…
Unfortunately, I won't be able to compete on Aug 19 at UFC 292. I have a tear in my right shoulder that requires rehab.
I wish I could've got in there w/ Chito, but I won't be able to make a full recovery in time.@jimmybars

Cejudo was supposed to face Vera at UFC 292 in Boston before suffering the recent injury. He returned from a three-year absence to challenge Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288; falling via split decision.
Before the loss to Sterling, Cejudo held titles at flyweight and bantamweight. He is regarded as one of the top combat sports athletes of all time.

The extent of Cejudo’s injury is uncertain, as is how long Cejudo will be sidelined. It’s possible he might not be able to return until next year.
The UFC will now look to book Vera a new opponent for UFC 292 or reschedule him for another fight entirely. Vera is looking to get back in the win column after a loss to Cory Sandhagen at UFC San Antonio.
UFC 292 is headlined by a bantamweight title matchup between Sterling and Sean O’Malley.
