Jalin Turner Jokingly Blames Blonde Hair For Dan Hooker Loss At UFC 290
Following his loss to Dan Hooker at UFC 290, Jalin Turner has blamed the result on the fact that the New Zealander dyed his hair blonde ahead of their fight.
The two lightweights met as part of a loaded main card at UFC 290 in Las Vegas, and they were given the difficult task of following a pair of sensational finishes when Robbie Lawler and Bo Nickal each scored knockout wins in under a minute.
Not to be outdone, Turner and Hooker put on a fantastic performance that likely would have been in contention for Fight of the Night if Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja didn’t put on an all-time classic in the card’s co-main event.
“The Tarantula” did get the nod from one of the judges, but it was Hooker who walked away with the victory via split decision.

The result was Turner’s second loss in a row, but the 28-year-old certainly still seemed to be in good spirits considering the quip he made on Twitter about Hooker’s key to victory.

“Fun fact: Fighters over 30 dye their hair blonde and end up becoming Super Saiyans.”
“The Hangman” left UFC 290 with a win and now has back-to-back victories, but physically it seems like he may be the worse off between the two lightweights. An X-ray after the fight showed that Hooker perservered through a broken arm, and later on the New Zealander also revealed that a head kick from Turner had fractured his orbital bone.
Turner was previously on an impressive five-fight streak of finishes before losing a split decision to Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 285, and coming up short on the judges’ scorecards again in this fight may well encourage the 28-year-old to get back to ending things inside the distance.
