Julija Stoliarenko shocked the crowd in London when she upset fan-favorite Molly McCann by submitting her in the first round of their flyweight bout.
The two women met in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Tom Aspinall vs. Marcin Tybura, with McCann looking to recreate the incredible form she’d displayed in her last two trips to London when she scored back-to-back spinning elbow knockouts.
“Meatball” had a three-fight win streak halted when she was submitted by Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281, but Stoliarenko entered the night in an extremely precarious position after only earning one victory out of her first five UFC bouts.
The Lithuanian came out aggressive to start the fight and was having considerable success on the feet despite being known as more of a grappler, but once she got things to the canvas the 30-year-old secured her favorite submission to hand McCann back-to-back losses for the second time in her career.

Stoliarenko likely would have exited the UFC if she had come up short in London, but instead the Lithuanian silenced the crowd and picked up easily the biggest win of her career.
