Khabib Nurmagomedov's Coach Expresses Dislike Towards YouTube Sensation MrBeast, Labels Him 'Too Kiddy'
In a conversation about the evolving media landscape, AKA head coach Javier Mendez revealed that he is not a fan of YouTube Mr.Beast.
Speaking on his own podcast, Mendez initially started talking about the Professional Fighters League [PFL] and the potential of Bellator being up for sale.
Changing the conversation into talks of modern TV and entertainment, the highly regarded coach of UFC champions such as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier amongst others gave his opinion on one of the biggest figures in the industry right now.
With 163 million subscribers on his main channel, Mr.Beast has built the largest YouTube channel on the platform, not including the Indian record label T-Series.
The majority of his content often features a game or competition where participants can earn huge rewards and prizes, something which Mendez isn’t fully sold on.
“You know I watched that guy Mr.Beast and I can’t stay watching him. I know he has a lot of subscribers but it’s like giving everything away and this and that, this and that and I don’t know. I’m a fan of what he’s done but I’m not a fan of their skits you know”
Despite Not Being A Fan Of His Content, Javier Mendez Gives Mr.Beast Credit
Whilst he admitted that he isn’t a fan of the content and it’s not the kind of thing that he gravitates towards, Javier Mendez did give some credit to Mr.Beast for the work that he does.
“I’m impressed by what he’s done, I think it’s amazing but the content and everything they have is just I don’t know, too kiddy show for me I guess”
All things considered, this is hardly negative feedback given Mr.Beast’s target demographic and how well his videos do with his audience.
With huge high-budget videos that include big prize sums, challenges and large amounts of people participating in them, his impact on YouTube and it’s ability to challenge traditional media is immeasurable.
Whilst he may he may hit over 100 million views per video, most hitting that range with ease, Javier Mendez isn’t going to be a loyal subscriber anytime soon.
