Liverpool's James Milner and Joel Matip star in hilarious advert for corporate partner

Liverpool’s unprecedented quadruple charge hangs in the balance with just two rounds of Premier League matches to run.

With a relentless Manchester City looking unlikely to drop points, Liverpool fans will have to make the most of an FA Cup and Champions League final to soften the blow.

In reality, after the shambles of last season, the fact that Liverpool are still in the hunt for all four trophies at this late stage is simply incredible.

However, in these final weeks, the depth of Jurgen Klopp’s squad has been well and truly been put to the test during a helter-skelter run-in.

Klopp has leant heavily on his experienced campaigners and asked a lot of his men.

One man he knows he can always rely on is the evergreen James Milner.

Milner has been playing Premier League football for what feels like a lifetime and is always ready to do whatever the team needs of him.

His latest assignment, though, saw him step a little more out of his comfort zone than he may have liked.

In partnership with the ever-willing meme-in-a-can that is Joel Matip, Milner leant into the stereotype that surrounds him on social media in a superb, albeit rather bizarre, television advert.

Appearing for club partner ThinkMarkets, Milner and Matip go about explaining some of the complexities of online trading in the only way the Yorkshireman might know how – using bags of tea.

While Milner does the lion’s share of the talking, Matip was fantastic value as he pulled out some iconic facial expressions.

If you weren’t expecting to hear James Milner explain online trading using English breakfast tea as his muse today, you’re probably not alone.

Milner and Matip would have been relieved to take a break from the intensity of the current run in but reds fans will be hoping they’re at their very best for for what remains of the season.
