Man Utd scouts feel £55m striker 'perfect' for Old Trafford
Manchester United will keep Benjamin Sesko on their radar after the Red Bull Salzburg star has gained ‘a lot of supporters’ among the recruitment staff at Old Trafford, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
Erik ten Hag, who took over as the Red Devils’ boss following the conclusion of last season, will be handed opportunities to freshen up his squad in January and next summer.

What’s the latest news involving Sesko?
Although Sesko is due to join RB Leipzig in a £55million transfer at the end of the campaign after an agreement was reached in August, that has not discouraged Manchester United from monitoring his situation.
According to The Telegraph, the 19-year-old is high on the Red Devils’ list of targets as ten Hag looks to continue his rebuild by welcoming a new striker to Old Trafford.
The report suggests Sesko has been on Manchester United’s radar since breaking into Salzburg’s first team and they could up the ante as they prepare for life without Cristiano Ronaldo, who told the hierarchy he wanted to leave during the summer.
Leipzig beat the Premier League giants to the 15-cap Slovenia international’s signature in August, only for him to remain with Salzburg for the 2022/23 campaign.
It was a heavy blow for Manchester United football director John Murtough, who met Sesko’s agent after a scouting mission but could not strike a deal.

What has Dean Jones said about Sesko?
Jones understands that Sesko is admired by key personnel working behind the scenes at Manchester United.
As a result, the journalist believes the Red Devils will continue keeping tabs on the frontman despite being set to link-up with Bundesliga side Leipzig next summer.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. He’s got a lot of supporters within the United recruitment staff, who feel that he’s the right fit for what they’re looking for.
“I think that, ultimately, is what’s probably going to help him stay on the radar.”
How does Sesko compare to Ronaldo?
Ronaldo is likely to leave Manchester United when his £480,000-per-week contract expires next summer, despite there being an option to extend the agreement by 12 months, and Sesko would be a good replacement even if he is not a superstar name at this stage.
According to FBref, the 6 ft 5 teenager has averaged more goals, assists and shots on target than the wantaway 37-year-old since the season got underway, so he has already demonstrated how much of a threat he is in the final third of the pitch.
Sesko was also prolific with former side FC Liefering, getting his name on the scoresheet 22 times in 44 outings.
The Red Devils showed they were not afraid to splash the cash during the summer, when they parted with more than £200million, and ten Hag would be wise to conclude a deal for Sesko.
