Alex Pereira Unloads On ‘Fake Record’ Abus Magomedov After Lopsided TKO Loss To Sean Strickland
Former UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira is not the kind of guy that you want to upset for several reasons.
Not only is he one of the scariest knockout artists to ever step inside the Octagon, if you offend him in some way, he keeps receipts.
That’s exactly what happened with Abus Magomedov who was defeated by Sean Strickland at the UFC Apex this past weekend.
Stepping in for a five round main event in just his second fight with the UFC, the occasion proved to come far too soon for Magomedov just like many predicted.
After he was finished in the second round, Alex Pereira gave his thoughts on the fight on his YouTube channel:
“Abus started strong and Strickland was leading with his pressure and was growing at the end of the first round and in the second round, this guy (Abus) was dead. Dead.”
Alex Pereira Makes A Point To Abus Magomedov By Digging Up Some Dirt
Whilst Pereira may have recently trained with Sean Strickland ahead of his move to light heavyweight, the former champ had an interest in this fight for a different reason.
In the video, he explains that after his successful UFC debut, Magomedov stated that he could beat both Pereira and Israel Adesanya on the same night, a statement that Pereira did not forget.
After his callout, “Poatan” did some research into Magomedov to see what he is all about and fired back at the German by stating that his record is fake and blown up incorrectly.
As well as offering to bet Magomedov’s purse that he would lose this fight, Pereira made sure to get the last word by once again calling out the holes in his record and his performance on the night.
“All of you watched the fight. A guy who, I will repeat, has a fake record, he has a lot of fights but against who? If you watched the fight, you see this guy was turning his back to the referee, showing to everybody, as well to the referee, that he didn’t want to fight anymore. It was very difficult for him.”
Video: Former UFC Champion José Aldo Extends Unbeaten Boxing Record With Decision Win In Brazil
Former UFC featherweight champion José Aldo is keeping himself busy after his career in MMA with a new past-time.
After producing three consecutive victories over Marlon Vera, Pedro Munhoz and Rob Font, a loss to Merab Dvalishvili dismantled his push for one last title shot with “The King of Rio” announcing his MMA retirement after the fight.
In the mean time, the Brazilian has turned his attention to a career in boxing where he returned to the ring this past weekend for his third contest.
Defeating Argentina’s Esteban Gabriel in Rio de Janeiro via a clear unanimous decision verdict at the of the six scheduled rounds, this additional chapter in the legendary career of Aldo is off to an encouraging start.

Replacement Opponent For Jack Della Maddalena Revealed Days Out From UFC 290
UFC 290 this Saturday is delivering a stacked card to UFC fans though it did take a hit in the build-up to the event with a cancelled fight.
Sean Brady and Jack Della Maddalena were set to meet in a contest between two of the most exciting welterweight contenders in the world only for Brady to pull out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury.
As the search to find Maddalena a replacement opponent got underway, possibility of fights with the likes of Joaquin Buckley, Kevin Holland and Chris Curtis all came and went.
Looking outside the UFC roster, the promotion was able to find the Aussie a new opponent in undefeated 24-year old Josiah Harrell.
In action less than a month ago at LFA 160, Harrell’s last fight drew a lot of attention for one moment where “Muscle Hamster” drove he and his opponent through the cage door during a takedown attempt.
Jack Della Maddalena x Josiah Harrell has been verbally agreed to for UFC 290 next week. JDM stays on the card versus the UFC debutant.
