
Movlid Khaybulaev, 2021 PFL Champion, Withdraws From Playoffs Due To Injury
2021 PFL featherweight champion Movlid Khaybulaev’s 2023 season has reportedly ended abruptly.
Khaybulaev has reportedly suffered an injury ahead of his scheduled matchup against Gabriel Braga on August 4th. MMA journalist Amy Kaplan was the first to report the news of Khaybulaev’s withdrawal.

It’s uncertain who will replace Khaybulaev in the featherweight bracket, although Brendan Loughnane and Chris Wade are expected to be in the mix.
Khaybulaev, one of the top featherweight prospects in Dagestan, has an unbeaten professional record over his career. After winning the 2021 PFL Championship against Wade, he withdrew from the 2022 season due to an injury.
Khaybulaev had been on a roll with wins over Ryoji Kudo and Tyler Diamond during the 2023 regular season. He finished Diamond with an arm-triangle choke to clinch a spot in the postseason.

Khaybulaev’s lone setbacks were a no-contest and a draw during the PFL regular season. He defeated current UFC featherweight Damon Jackson with a 10-second knee knockout in the season opener.
