Nate Diaz Seemingly Shuts Down MMA Fight vs. Jake Paul: 'I'd Rather Fight Real Fighters' Than In 'Minor League' PFL

Nate Diaz isn’t interested in facing Jake Paul in the PFL SmartCage, as evidenced by his latest social media jab.

Diaz fought Paul in his professional boxing debut earlier this year, losing by unanimous decision. Almost immediately after their boxing match, the two sides teased a possible rematch in MMA, potentially in the PFL where Paul recently signed.

Diaz, who hasn’t ruled out an eventual return to the UFC for a Conor McGregor trilogy, would likely be a significant betting favorite in MMA. But, he seems more focused on other options rather than plotting potential revenge against Paul.

Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul Rematch Appears To Be In Jeopardy

In a recent tweet, Diaz appeared to shut down any chance of facing Paul in MMA.

“Im good I’d rather fight real fighters,” Diaz tweeted Friday. “And never back track to the minor leagues pussyFL. Fight urself dipshit.”

PFL founder Donn Davis recently hinted that Diaz was dodging an MMA fight against Paul in the SmartCage. He claimed that an offer was on the table for Diaz, but that he hasn’t taken the negotiations seriously.

Before the loss to Paul, Diaz resumed his MMA career with a win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. He parted ways with the UFC just a few weeks after the Ferguson fight to pursue other options.

Paul’s next boxing fight hasn’t been formally announced, but he’ll likely return next month against a to-be-determined opponent. If a Diaz vs. Paul runback happens, it appears it’ll happen in the ring and not in the cage.
