Phillies, Aaron Nola Agree to Massive Contract, per Report

Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola will sign a seven-year, $172 million contract to stay in Philadelphia, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Sunday.

The deal is just pending a physical to be made official.

Nola has spent his entire MLB career with the Phillies thus far, and now he plans to be there for the foreseeable future. There were rumors that Nola could land somewhere else, such as the Braves.

Update: The Phillies confirmed the move Sunday night:

The Phillies have signed RHP Aaron Nola to a seven-year contract taking him through the 2030 season. Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.
