Watch: Sean O'Malley & Marlon Vera Face Off For First Time Ahead Of UFC 299 Rematch

UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley and UFC 299 rival Marlon Vera had a heated first encounter ahead of their rematch.

O’Malley and Vera will headline UFC 299 in March, as announced in a slew of big-name fight announcements by UFC President Dana White this week. Alexander Volkanovski vs. Ilia Topuria, along with Sean Strickland vs. Dricus du Plessis, will also help kick off 2024 for the UFC.

O’Malley is looking to avenge the lone defeat of his UFC tenure against Vera. Earlier in their careers at UFC 252, Vera finished O’Malley with leg kicks and ground-and-pound.

Tensions between the two sides have skyrocketed in recent years since their Octagon clash, and O’Malley vs. Vera 2’s first pre-fight faceoff didn’t disappoint.

O’Malley won the UFC bantamweight title by finishing Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 earlier this year. During that same event, Vera defeated Pedro Munhoz by unanimous decision, which led to O’Malley calling him out in his post-fight speech.

O’Malley and Vera have both grown immensely as fighters since their first fight at UFC 252. Both fighters have become UFC fan favorites and have changed their lives forever.

The two bantamweights haven’t gotten physical ahead of their UFC 299 rematch, but their first pre-fight faceoff shows that the heat is building.
