Wild World of Fighting: MMA For Kids, GTA Fight Club, Paulo Costa As Batman, & More
Greetings fight fans, and welcome back to the Wild World of Fighting, the only series that is deserving of a crack at the BMF belt.
This week, we take a look at the controversial world of children’s MMA, the pettiness of Conor McGregor, the UFC in Gotham City, and more. So buckle up, as we take a ride through the Wild World of Fighting.
Conor McGregor Still Trolling Jose Aldo
Say what you will about the man or the current state of his career, but when Conor McGregor was rising through the featherweight division, he was on another level of mental warfare. It’s common lore in the MMA community that he already had Jose Aldo beat before his 13-second knockout to unify the title, simply due to the mind games played throughout the lengthy build to the fight.
As it turns out, even though McGregor has shown respect for Aldo in recent years, he has still never quite stopped trolling the Brazilian legend. This was made evident recently, when it emerged that the license plate on the Irishman’s son’s toy car reads “ALDO13S” in reference to his swift one-punch finish of Aldo.

The level of pettiness that McGregor has shown over the years never seems to reach a ceiling. Regardless, this was a pretty hilarious way to poke fun at his old rival from the comfort of his own home.
Rampage Jackson’s MMA GTA Server
There have been a ton of insane advancements in the technology that is employed in the Wild World of Fighting in recent years. Look no further than the VR setup that the LFA featured for an event, nor the Meta training session between Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu superstar Mark Zuckerberg and UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson recently showed off his way of bringing MMA to the world of video games, in a way that doesn’t involve EA Sports. He recently set-up an MMA-centric server on Grand Theft Auto, complete with his own billboard.

It seems that Rampage is looking to provide an opportunity for fighters to get together and hang out, more than involving MMA fans. However, it’s only a matter of time before GTA Fight Club becomes a thing.
Paulo Costa Will Save Gotham From Khamzat Chimaev
Another big development in technology recently, has involved the use of AI, particularly to create insanely realistic images and videos. Some of the results of this may be terrifying if you think about them too long, but when paired with the Wild World of Fighting, some cool things may be produced.
One such example of awesome AI art was created by digital artist Hall9000, who posted a video to Instagram showing MMA figures as characters from Batman. Among these was Paulo Costa as Batman, Khamzat Chimaev as Joker, Dana White as Commissioner Gordon, Israel Adesanya as Lucius Fox, and Bruce Buffer as Alfred.

It is certainly understandable to have mixed feelings about the use of AI in art. That said, it is hard to deny how cool this style of crossover is to see in action.
Dana White Caught in 4K
While UFC President Dana White is not a stranger to controversy, it is not often that he is caught in outright embarrassing moments. Immediately coming to mind, would only be his scared refusal to jump from a cliff into water, despite help from Rachel Ostovich, as well as the time Chael Sonnen notably pulled a great joke on him over video call, without him realizing.
However, White was caught in something of a vulnerable position during his most recent appearance at a post-fight press conference. When getting up to hand a member of media $100 for correctly guessing that Henry Cejudo offered to fight Sean O’Malley instead of Aljamain Sterling, the UFC President was caught on camera with his fly down.

There are a lot of opinions about the exchange between White and the media member that were hashed out on Twitter in the days after it occurred. Regardless of your opinion on the matter, it was probably worth it for Dana to be caught in this embarrassing moment of humanity.
Children Competing in MMA
Without a doubt, the average technical skill level of MMA fighters are at an all time high, no matter the organization or weight class. A big part of this, comes down to the fact that there are generations of fighters who have been training with the intent of competing in MMA from the start of their athletic careers, even as children.
As it turns out, there are also parts of the world where children are allowed to fight at a much earlier age than seen in the United States. In the UK’s Bad MoFo MMA, there was a scrap between two young boys, with a skill level that is worthy of being aired on ESPN+.

It is worth noting that these fights do not allow head strikes or twisting submissions, combining with the shin guards to add additional protection. There is no doubt that these kids will develop into elite fighters if they continue on this path, but there is still a question about what impact this will have on a long-term career.
